Omnicol system for waterproof tiling
Tiles, sealants, and adhesives are water-resistant and/or waterproof products, but this does not mean they guarantee a completely waterproof system. This can be done by applying a completely waterproof membrane under the floor and wall tiles. Such a 'full-surface seal' is part of the entire adhesive system, together with the correct membrane, primer, adhesive and joint mortar.
Waterproof membrane under floor and wall tiles
In practice, it appears that moisture can penetrate into floors and walls, especially along the most critical and vulnerable points, such as drains, penetrations and wall/floor connections. Rain showers, stainless steel drains or tiled shower floors have specific requirements for materials and design. Of course, not every situation and user are the same. The risk of leakage in ground-level homes for seniors is less than in student units and commercial wet areas that require maximum protection due to possible other use and maintenance. In fact, a completely waterproof membrane under the floor and wall tiles is recommended for every surface.

Tiling in new construction and renovation
Always err on the side of caution. The solution is an adhesive system that as a whole reduces the risk of leakage. Consider primer + waterproof uncoupling mat + tile adhesive + grout. Omnicol has coordinated all these products exactly, so one system gives you complete certainty.
This reduces the risk of leakage, damage and repair costs in the wet room, consequential damage and repair costs in the other rooms, and of course dangerous situations, water that reaches a central box via an electricity line for example. A waterproof membrane can be installed in wet areas in both new construction and renovation of homes, but also in commercial locations.
